East Tyrolean sculptor Sebastian Rainer opened his new exhibition titled 'ANIMA' at the Kunstraum Leibl gallery in Lienz on Friday, November 6th. The exhibition showcases the work of the accomplished artist who has been working as a freelance sculptor for over 30 years, presenting his distinctive artistic vision to the local community.
Rainer's exhibition features an impressive collection of sculptures crafted from diverse materials including wood, stone, bronze, and concrete. His artistic works offer profound reflections on contemporary life, depicting people climbing mountains as well as those who have become isolated and communicate primarily through their smartphones. The sculptor's pieces capture the essence of human experience in the modern world.
The artist describes his artistic approach as grounded, socio-political, and deeply human in nature. Rainer's sculptures serve as a commentary on society while maintaining a strong connection to fundamental human experiences and emotions. His work demonstrates a commitment to addressing contemporary social issues through his artistic expression.
The opening reception for 'ANIMA' began at 7:00 PM on Friday evening, marking the start of the exhibition's run. Art enthusiasts and community members will have the opportunity to view Rainer's collection until November 27th, providing nearly three weeks to experience the sculptor's latest body of work.
In addition to the main exhibition, visitors can look forward to a special event on November 11th. East Tyrolean creative artists Katharina Zanon and Oliver Deutsch will host a musical and surreal evening, adding another dimension to the cultural offerings at the venue. This collaborative event promises to complement Rainer's sculptural exhibition with performances that explore different artistic mediums.
