Groundbreaking Fantasy Novel Explores the Depths of Loss through the Lens of a Director's Discovery

In a recent literary release, a touching human fantasy novel has captured readers' attention with its exploration of profound grief, guilt, and redemption in the aftermath of suicide. Set against the backdrop of a Psychological Autopsy Center, the story delves into the experiences of those left behind and the intricate process of mourning. 

▲ Courtesy of ClayhouseJi-an, the director of the center, uncovers a secret near its premises—a public phone booth with a unique ability. This booth allows individuals to hear the final thoughts of their departed loved ones. Motivated by a deep longing to hear her late father's voice, Ji-an makes daily visits to the booth and decides to incorporate this extraordinary element into her work.

Driven by the belief that listening to the final thoughts of the deceased can offer redemption to those grappling with loss, Ji-an extends hope to the bereaved families she encounters through her psychological autopsy work. Simultaneously, she navigates her own journey of grief over the loss of her father.

The novel also explores the author's personal connection to the theme, as a suicide attempt survivor herself. Seeking counseling and immersing in literature and writing, she crafted this poignant narrative to shed light on the complex emotions surrounding suicide.

Before its official release, the novel garnered significant attention, securing licensing agreements in Poland, Romania, and Turkey. Furthermore, discussions are currently underway regarding potential screen adaptation rights, as revealed by the publisher.
