SEOUL — Park Bom, a member of the girl group 2NE1 who has been on hiatus due to health issues, has claimed to have filed a police report against Yang Hyun-suk, the founder of YG Entertainment, her former agency.
On Wednesday evening, Park uploaded an image to Instagram showing what appeared to be an official report form titled “Letter of Report.” In the caption, she wrote, “Everyone, please investigate what YG did to Park Bom.”
The document, seemingly signed and stamped by Park on Oct. 19, accused Yang of failing to pay “1002003004006007001000034 '64272e trillion won” — a nonsensical figure — allegedly owed for her work in music, performances, television appearances, advertisements, and songwriting. The letter further stated that the incident caused “immense mental and economic damages,” calling it “apparent fraud.”
However, the unusual format and incoherent content of the post raised concerns among fans about the singer’s mental and physical health. Many commented urging her to seek help, with messages such as, “Please, what’s happening to you?” and “Please, at least cover your phone number.”
Park Bom, who debuted with 2NE1 under YG Entertainment in 2009, has suspended all activities since August, citing health-related reasons.
