South Korean girl group BBGIRLS has officially signed an exclusive contract with entertainment agency GLG, marking the beginning of an exciting new chapter in their career. The announcement has generated anticipation among fans and the industry alike, with GLG promising robust support for the group’s future endeavors.
GLG confirmed the partnership on the 11th, stating, "We have signed an exclusive contract with BBGIRLS. We will provide unwavering support to ensure the group can thrive across various fields." They expressed confidence in the group’s potential to evolve and excel, adding, "BBGIRLS has already showcased their talents through music programs and variety shows. We look forward to presenting their new music and image, and we hope for your continued interest."
The group’s new trajectory also comes with high expectations for synergy between BBGIRLS and their new agency. A representative from GLG remarked, "BBGIRLS is embarking on a new journey. We are eager to see what kind of synergy they will create with us, and we hope fans will look forward to it."
Originally debuting as Brave Girls in 2011, the group experienced a meteoric rise to fame in 2021 when their 2017 track "Rollin’" unexpectedly surged back onto the charts. The viral success of the song turned them into a cultural phenomenon and cemented their status as one of K-pop's iconic "reverse-running" groups, adored by a diverse fanbase.
In 2023, the group rebranded as BBGIRLS to signify a fresh start. However, the same year brought changes to their lineup when member Yujeong departed in April, leaving Minyoung, Eunji, and Yuna to continue as a three-member group. Despite these challenges, BBGIRLS maintained their reputation as "summer queens," delivering performances that embody the lively and refreshing energy fans have come to associate with them.
Joining GLG places BBGIRLS alongside artists such as H1-KEY and Stella Jang, both of whom have also achieved notable success under the agency’s management. GLG’s diverse artist roster and reputation for innovative strategies are expected to provide BBGIRLS with new opportunities to grow their brand and artistry.
As BBGIRLS embarks on this new chapter, the group’s journey reflects their resilience and commitment to evolving within the ever-competitive K-pop industry. With GLG’s support, they aim to captivate audiences with fresh music and versatile performances, further solidifying their legacy as enduring figures in Korean pop culture.
