Twice has reaffirmed their global popularity by once again securing a top spot on the Billboard 200 chart. According to the latest rankings released by Billboard on December 17 (local time), the group’s new single Strategy debuted at No. 4 on the December 21 chart, marking another milestone for the K-pop sensation.
With this achievement, Twice has become the first K-pop girl group to place six consecutive albums in the Billboard 200’s Top 10, solidifying their status as one of the world’s leading girl groups. Their consistent success underscores their global appeal and unrelenting momentum in the international music industry.
Twice’s streak of chart-topping success began in 2021 with Taste of Love, which peaked at No. 6. That same year, Formula of Love: O+T=<3 reached No. 3, followed by Between 1&2 (No. 3) in 2022. They continued their impressive chart run with Ready To Be (No. 3) earlier this year and achieved a historic milestone in February when With YOU-th topped the Billboard 200, marking their first-ever No. 1 on the chart.
The latest single, Strategy, features American rapper Megan Thee Stallion, combining an addictive melody with empowering lyrics that capture the bold and confident theme of winning over a loved one with a well-executed plan. The collaboration highlights Twice’s versatility and willingness to experiment with diverse sounds.
In a statement, Twice expressed their gratitude to fans worldwide, saying, “We worked hard to prepare this album to connect with even more fans. We’re so happy to return to music shows after 10 months and share this moment with everyone.”
The group also teased upcoming plans for 2025, including an appearance as the special guest for Coldplay’s highly anticipated Seoul concert. “We’re preparing some amazing performances and a completely fresh world tour,” the members said. “Please look forward to what’s in store.”
Twice has also been making waves in other arenas. Last month, they became the first K-pop act to perform on Amazon Music Live, drawing record-breaking viewership with their powerful stage presence and impeccable performances.
On December 31, Twice is set to appear on Japan’s iconic year-end program, NHK’s Kohaku Uta Gassen (홍백가합전), marking their third appearance on the prestigious broadcast. Their continued presence on international platforms highlights their unwavering popularity and influence in the global music scene.
With consistent chart-topping releases, groundbreaking performances, and ambitious plans for the future, Twice remains at the forefront of K-pop’s global expansion. Fans can look forward to an even bigger year ahead as the group continues to dominate both charts and stages worldwide.
