Jinyoung, a member of the popular boy group GOT7, has officially completed his mandatory military service, delighting fans as he prepares to reenter the spotlight. On Wednesday, a day before his discharge, Jinyoung teased his return with photos on social media, including one where he held up an index finger, signaling “one day” left until his release. His agency, BH Entertainment, also engaged fans by inviting them to submit questions, which Jinyoung addressed in a special livestream on Thursday.
The singer and actor’s return marks the end of a year and a half of military duty, during which he briefly stepped back from his artistic pursuits. Jinyoung initially gained recognition for his acting debut in the teen drama Dream High 2 in 2012 before officially debuting with GOT7 in 2014. His versatility in both music and acting has since garnered him a broad fan base, eager to see his post-service projects.
Ahead of his enlistment, Jinyoung wrapped up filming for the highly anticipated drama The Witch, slated to air in early 2025. With the drama in post-production, Jinyoung has hinted that he will soon begin work on another project, signaling a busy return to both the small screen and the recording studio.
Additionally, Jinyoung confirmed that GOT7 is preparing a new album, bringing together all the members before his bandmates Youngjae and Yugyeom begin their own military service. Fans are especially thrilled by the prospect of new group activities, as it underscores the members’ dedication to sustaining the group’s legacy.
As fans welcome him back, Jinyoung’s schedule is filling quickly, reflecting his commitment to both his acting and music careers. With several projects lined up, his return promises an exciting chapter for GOT7 and for Jinyoung as an individual artist.
