ONE PACT, a fresh entrant into the K-pop scene, has been formed by former contestants from popular audition programs, "Boys Planet" (2023) and "High School Rapper" (2021). The group, comprising Jongwoo, Jay Chang, Seongmin, TAG, and Yedam, debuted with their album "Moment" on Thursday, aiming to make a significant impact in the industry.
Jongwoo, the group's front man, shared during a press event in Gangnam District, southern Seoul, that the idea to form ONE PACT emerged during his post-"Boys Planet" performances in Thailand, Taiwan, and Japan with fellow member Chang. The group's name, ONE PACT, is a fusion of "one" and "impact," representing their ambitions in the K-pop realm. They are under the management of ARMADA ENT, led by singer/TV personality Kangnam.
Kangnam, a former member of the disbanded hip-hop group M.I.B and husband to retired Olympic speed skater Lee Sang-hwa, has been a supportive figure for ONE PACT. Jongwoo expressed gratitude for Kangnam's unwavering support and described him as a CEO who readily promotes and assists the group.
Jongwoo acknowledged Kangnam as a friendly older brother figure, highlighting his encouragement and non-pressuring approach. The singers anticipate sharing their experiences with fellow contestants from "Boys Planet" and hope for mutual congratulations and shared smiles in the future.
