Aespa's special digital single "Synk: Parallel Line" debuted at the top of the iTunes Top Albums Chart in 16 regions, SM Entertainment confirmed on Friday, citing the latest tally.

The single features four tracks, one solo from each of the four members. Karina's solo "Up" made a strong impression, landing on both the Top 100 and Hot 100 charts on Melon, Korea's largest music chart. This success underscores the group's versatility and the individual strengths of its members.

Aespa is set to make a highly anticipated comeback with their fifth EP Whiplash on October 21, approximately five months after the release of their first full-length album, Armageddon. The latter had made waves globally, reaching No. 25 on the Billboard 200, marking the group’s fifth entry on the chart. Armageddon also topped the iTunes Top Albums Chart in 25 regions, proving their widespread international appeal.

From late January next year, Aespa will resume their world tour, covering both the Americas and Europe, with the final concert scheduled in Madrid, Spain, on March 12. The tour is expected to expand their global presence and further cement their position as one of the leading K-pop acts on the international stage.

This tour holds significant meaning for both the group and their global fans, as it compensates for the lack of overseas performances during the pandemic years. Fans in North America and Europe are eagerly awaiting the group's live shows, which will feature new tracks from Whiplash and an array of diverse performances.

Aespa has quickly risen to prominence as SM Entertainment's next-generation girl group. Since their debut, they have built a solid global fanbase, thanks to their innovative concept centered around the metaverse and their exceptional musical talent. With the release of Synk: Parallel Line and the upcoming Whiplash, Aespa is poised to further solidify their global standing.

Music industry insiders expect Aespa's comeback to not only dominate the charts but also leave a lasting impact on the broader music scene. Many are watching closely to see how the group's growth will continue to shape the future of K-pop.
