CookieRun India, developed by Studio Kingdom under Devsisters and published locally by Krafton, has climbed to 5th place on Google Play’s popular game chart in India, the company announced. Notably, it claimed the top spot in the arcade game category, marking a solid debut in the competitive Indian mobile gaming market.
Launched on December 11, CookieRun India broke into the 7th position on Google Play's popular games chart just two days later, and by the weekend, it had reached 5th place, maintaining this position since. The game also boasts a high user satisfaction score, with a rating of 4.64.
India’s mobile gaming market, where over 90% of users operate on Android devices, presents significant opportunities. CookieRun India’s swift rise in Google Play rankings is seen as a promising indicator of its potential long-term success.
The game’s strong initial performance is attributed to its localized content tailored specifically for Indian audiences. CookieRun India introduced two unique characters inspired by traditional Indian desserts—Gulab Jamun Cookie and Kaju Katli Cookie—along with Indian-themed lobbies and maps. These features have been well-received for their cultural relevance and high-quality design.
Additionally, CookieRun India offers engaging gameplay modes, such as the “Event Run” mode, where players compete solely based on coin collection. Social features, including friend and regional leaderboards, further enhance the competitive and collaborative gaming experience.
