The Busan International Kids and Teens Art Fair (BIKAF) returns for its fourth edition, offering a platform for young artists to showcase their creativity while addressing global environmental issues. Organized by the climate-action-focused cultural content company Oh My Earth (Omyearth), the event combines art, education, and environmental advocacy, making it a distinctive international platform.

This year’s BIKAF introduces an exciting opportunity for young artists. Through a collaboration with Omyearth, selected participants from the BIKAF competition will have the rare chance to exhibit their works at the Louvre Museum in France. Building on the success of the 2023 Omyearth in Louvre competition, this initiative offers young talents invaluable exposure to the global art scene.

The competition, running under the themes of “Freedom” and “Plastic ZERO,” encourages participants to creatively express their perspectives on environmental sustainability. “We aim to inspire young creators to integrate artistic expression with the message of environmental protection,” stated Omyearth.

Kim Dae Il, CEO of Omyearth, emphasized the profound impact of youthful creativity. “Children’s pure imagination and ingenuity inspire even older generations. Through their art, we aim to deliver a message of hope and sustainability to the world,” he said.

BIKAF Director Lee Young Ae also highlighted the broader vision of the event. “This fair seeks to empower children to realize their artistic potential while nurturing their growth into global leaders who care for the environment and the future. By intertwining the values of art, environment, and education, we aim to provide young participants with dreams and aspirations,” she noted.

The BIKAF competition is open for submissions from December 2, 2024, to January 9, 2025, through the official event website. Selected works will be showcased at the Busan Cinema Center before traveling to the Louvre for an international audience.

The event promises an array of interactive programs, including docent tours, live drawing sessions, and international exchange exhibitions, providing young participants with hands-on artistic experiences. With an estimated 10,000 visitors, BIKAF is poised to solidify its position as a hub for global cultural and artistic education.

Adding to its extensive offerings, Omyearth will present a musical production titled Omyearth at the Baekam Art Hall from December 21, 2024, to January 26, 2025. The musical, featuring Omyearth’s signature characters, integrates themes of sustainability and environmental consciousness, promising an engaging experience for children and families alike.
