Kakao Games’ popular MMORPG Odin: Valhalla Rising, developed by Lionheart Studio, has climbed to second place on Google Play’s sales rankings following the launch of its new Destroyer class update. Released on December 18, the update introduced a powerful third advanced class for the Shield Maiden, solidifying the game’s stronghold in the competitive gaming market.
The Destroyer class specializes in close-range combat and excels in battling multiple enemies simultaneously, offering players a fresh gameplay experience. The update also added the new "Alchemy" system, allowing players to craft and refine materials into elixirs that grant temporary buffs to their characters. Accompanying the release were four exclusive "Odin Coupons" and various year-end events, enhancing user engagement and satisfaction.
A Kakao Games spokesperson shared their gratitude for the positive reception, stating, “We’re thrilled by the enthusiastic response to the Destroyer class. We will continue to deliver engaging content and events to meet our players’ expectations.”
This success isn’t limited to Odin. Kakao Games’ Uma Musume Pretty Derby also saw a significant boost, re-entering the top 10 on Google Play’s sales rankings with its 2.5-year anniversary update. Meanwhile, Path of Exile 2, launched in Korea on December 7, achieved the highest playtime among the top 20 PC games in domestic internet cafes, further demonstrating Kakao Games’ market strength.
With plans for more updates and innovative events, Kakao Games continues to solidify its position as a leading force in the global gaming industry, setting new standards in live service game management.
