Riku of NCT WISH is set to return to group activities after recovering from health issues.
On February 3, SM Entertainment announced via the fan platform Weverse, stating, “Riku’s condition has significantly improved. Following his own determination and the opinion of medical professionals, he will be resuming activities.”
Riku had temporarily halted activities in October 2023 due to health concerns, taking more than three months of rest to focus on recovery. With his health now stabilized, he is ready to rejoin the group.
For the scheduled activities in February, NCT WISH members Sion, Yushi, Jaehee, Ryo, and Sakuya will carry out promotions as planned. Riku is set to officially rejoin the group in March, participating in the group’s upcoming Asia tour ‘LOG in’ as well as album promotions in the first half of the year.
SM Entertainment expressed gratitude to fans, stating, “We sincerely thank all the fans who have continuously supported and encouraged Riku during his recovery. We will continue to prioritize his well-being to ensure he can promote in good health.”
Meanwhile, NCT WISH has been gaining international recognition. The group has been nominated for ‘Best New Artist (K-pop)’ at the 2025 iHeartRadio Music Awards, which is set to take place in Los Angeles on March 17.
With Riku’s return and a series of major activities lined up, NCT WISH is poised for an eventful and impactful year ahead.
