Rising K-pop group BOYNEXTDOOR has announced an exciting collaboration with Warner Bros.’ legendary animated series Tom and Jerry. The group announced on February 10 during a special event held at Warner Bros. Japan’s headquarters in Tokyo, celebrating the 85th anniversary of the beloved cartoon.
While currently on their Japan tour, BOYNEXTDOOR took part in the commemorative event, where they revealed plans to release a special collaborative track later this year. The song will be created specifically for Tom and Jerry’s 85th anniversary, designed to reflect the playful and dynamic energy of the classic animated series.
Beyond the special song, the group also expressed interest in launching character-themed merchandise in conjunction with the collaboration. “It’s a great honor to take part in celebrating Tom and Jerry’s 85th anniversary. We’re excited to bring something fun and memorable to fans,” BOYNEXTDOOR shared during the press event.
Tom and Jerry, first aired in 1940, remains one of Warner Bros.’ most iconic and enduring animated series. This collaboration marks a significant achievement for BOYNEXTDOOR, whose growing popularity in Japan played a crucial role in securing the opportunity.
The group has been expanding its presence in Japan since last year, debuting with their single AND and performing at major music festivals. They have also graced the covers of prominent Japanese magazines, further solidifying their status in the market.
Their latest digital single, One and Only (오늘만 아이 러브 유), has been met with significant success in Japan, debuting at No. 1 on Spotify Japan’s Daily Viral Songs chart on January 20 and remaining in the upper rankings as of February 8. Additionally, the song’s Japanese version entered Spotify Japan’s Daily Top Songs chart on February 8, showcasing the group's growing influence in the country’s music scene.
Riding this momentum, BOYNEXTDOOR continues their Japan tour with performances in Miyagi, Fukuoka, and Kanagawa, further strengthening their connection with Japanese fans. As anticipation builds for their Tom and Jerry collaboration, the project is expected to enhance their global recognition and solidify their place as a rising force in the K-pop industry.
