JYP Entertainment has donated 500 million KRW to World Vision to support victims affected by the recent large-scale wildfires in the Gyeongsangnam-do and Gyeongsangbuk-do provinces. The company announced the donation on March 27, expressing deep condolences to those who lost their homes and livelihoods due to the unexpected disaster.
The agency stated that the donation reflects their hope for the affected communities and children to regain a sense of stability and return to their daily lives as quickly as possible. The funds will be allocated toward emergency relief efforts for approximately 10,000 individuals in the hardest-hit areas of Uiseong and Sancheong. These efforts include the provision of essential supplies, emergency living expenses, replacement of damaged appliances and furniture, and psychological and emotional support for residents and children.
JYP Entertainment has consistently demonstrated a commitment to social responsibility through timely philanthropic action. In March 2022, the company donated 300 million KRW to assist children and residents impacted by the wildfires in Gangwon and Gyeongbuk. In February 2023, it contributed 500 million KRW to aid relief efforts following the devastating earthquake in Türkiye and Syria.
A representative from JYP Entertainment emphasized the agency's core belief in giving back the support and love it receives from the public. The company continues to expand and systematize its CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) activities, aiming to implement meaningful social contribution projects that resonate beyond the entertainment industry.
One such initiative was the year-end charity concert held at Samsung Medical Center in 2022, marking the formal beginning of JYP’s structured CSR program. Earlier efforts include the "EDM Treatment Support Project" for children with rare diseases, the "EDM Wish Fulfillment Project" for emotional well-being, and the “Love Earth” campaign promoting environmental sustainability.
JYP Entertainment’s sustained philanthropy reinforces the evolving role of entertainment companies as active participants in public welfare and social solidarity.
