The new Cosmocité Science Center in Le Pont-de-Claix, France, has opened as a striking cultural landmark that seamlessly blends architecture, science, and landscape design. Designed by Arcane Architectes and completed in 2023, the 2,114-square-meter facility represents a significant addition to the region's educational and cultural infrastructure.

The building was conceived as a journey of discovery, offering visitors an immersive experience to explore the mysteries of the universe while reconnecting with the site's historical significance and the surrounding urban environment. Lead architects Anais Kerdraon and Jean-François Julien envisioned the structure as more than just a science center, but as a place where scientific exploration meets architectural innovation.

The project involved extensive collaboration with specialized consultants and engineers. CET Batiment et Énergie handled the MEP (mechanical, electrical, and plumbing) systems, while Betrec IG provided structural engineering expertise. Environmental sustainability considerations were managed by Étamine, reflecting the project's commitment to responsible design practices. The landscape architecture was developed by Verdance, ensuring the building integrates harmoniously with its natural surroundings.

Acoustic design by Echologos and additional consulting by MTM Infra, CREO, and François Tourny contributed to creating an optimal environment for scientific education and public engagement. The center's design emphasizes the use of natural materials, particularly wood and glass, which create a transparent and welcoming atmosphere while maintaining a strong connection to the natural environment.
