Rookie boy group KickFlip is already making waves internationally before their official debut. On January 5 (KST), Grammy.com highlighted the group in its feature "8 Rookie K-Pop Acts To Watch in 2025," showcasing their rising potential as one of the year’s most promising new K-pop acts.

Grammy praised KickFlip as the culmination of years of preparation following JYP Entertainment’s 2021 audition program LOUD. Describing the group as a long-anticipated project, Grammy noted, “KickFlip is the newest boy group from JYP Entertainment, who signaled their January 2025 debut promotions at the 2024 MAMA Awards last November.”

KickFlip has officially entered the countdown to their debut with the announcement of their first mini-album Flip it, Kick it!, scheduled for release on January 20. On January 6, the group unveiled their member profiles, album scheduler, and the music video for their pre-release track 응 그래 (Yes, Okay), which has already drawn significant attention.

The 응 그래 music video has been praised for its vibrant energy, showcasing the members’ charismatic performances and a laid-back yet addictive vibe. The video quickly garnered traction, ranking 9th on YouTube’s Worldwide Music Video Trending chart and 3rd on Korea’s Popular Rising Videos chart as of January 7.

Comprising seven members—Gye Hoon, Amaru, Dong Hwa, Ju Wang, Min Jae, K-Ju, and Dong Hyun—KickFlip is gaining recognition for their diverse charms. Each member brings a distinct personality and talent, adding to the group’s multifaceted appeal. The group’s name, inspired by the advanced skateboarding trick where the board rotates 360 degrees, symbolizes their intent to break boundaries and introduce a fresh dynamic to the industry.

With the release of their debut mini-album just weeks away, KickFlip is ramping up promotions. Fans can expect a steady stream of teaser content, including choreography practice videos, introduction films, concept photos, tracklist posters, track videos, and music video teasers.
