&TEAM Proves Power in Japan with Double Platinum Certification for "Yukiakari"

The Japanese record association confirmed that &TEAM’s second full album "Yukiakari" (雪明かり) has achieved Double Platinum status as of December 2024. The album has surpassed 500,000 copies in cumulative shipments, a remarkable feat that highlights the group's growing influence in Japan. The record association awards certifications based on shipment volumes, with Gold (100,000 copies), Platinum (250,000 copies), and Double Platinum (500,000 copies).
&TEAM had previously received Double Platinum certification for their first two singles "Samidare" (五月雨) and "Aoarashi" (青嵐), further solidifying their position in the Japanese music industry. The success of "Yukiakari" marks another significant milestone in their career, showcasing their consistent rise in popularity.
The title "Yukiakari" refers to the natural phenomenon where light reflects off the snow (雪), making the surroundings glow brightly. It is the final installment in their four-season-themed album series, with "Winter" as the central theme. The album features new tracks such as the title song "Yukiakari", "Deer Hunter", "Illumination", and "Crescent Moon's Wish", each of which demonstrates the group’s musical versatility.
&TEAM has released a total of 22 tracks, including 4 new songs, along with Korean versions of previously released tracks. The album's wide range of genres successfully resonated with Japanese audiences, showing their ability to cater to various musical tastes.
From December 17 to 22, 2024, "Yukiakari" topped the Oricon Daily Album Chart for six consecutive days, proving its dominance in the market. It also reached the top spot on the Weekly Album Ranking for the week ending December 30, 2024, confirming its widespread success. Furthermore, "Yukiakari" claimed the #1 spot on Billboard Japan’s Weekly Top Album Sales Chart for December 16-22, 2024. &TEAM’s continued success on major music charts highlights their growing influence and recognition in Japan’s competitive music industry.
