SM Entertainment has announced its decision to pursue legal action against individuals spreading false rumors and defamatory content about its newly debuted girl group, Hearts2Hearts. The company confirmed on the 26th that it has detected malicious posts, false claims, and defamatory remarks circulating online and has taken immediate legal steps to address the issue.

On the 24th, the same day as Hearts2Hearts’ debut, posts alleging unverified claims about a specific member’s school days began appearing on online communities and social media. However, no concrete evidence has been provided, and the situation remains based solely on unsubstantiated accusations.

SM Entertainment issued a firm response through its cyber protection unit, KWANGYA 119, stating, "Fabricating non-factual information or spreading baseless rumors constitutes a clear illegal act." The company emphasized that such actions would not be taken lightly and would be met with strict legal measures.

The entertainment giant has already initiated legal proceedings and vowed to take zero tolerance toward the perpetrators. "We will pursue strong legal action without leniency or settlements to protect our artists," the company stated. This move reflects a growing trend in the K-pop industry, where agencies are increasingly taking legal action against malicious online behavior to safeguard their artists' reputations.

Hearts2Hearts is an eight-member girl group that officially debuted on February 24 with their first single, "The Chase." Despite the controversy surrounding online speculation, the group is proceeding with their planned promotional activities.
