Daegu Art Museum has announced that it will be recruiting new docents (cultural volunteers) for exhibition tours from February 3 to 10, 2025. The new docents will play a key role in guiding visitors through the museum’s exhibitions and providing insightful explanations of the artwork on display.
The recruitment is open to those who have completed the Daegu Art Museum Docent Training Program in 2023 or 2024. Interested candidates can apply by downloading the application form from the museum's official website and submitting the completed form via email to kugi@dgfca.or.kr.
After reviewing the applications, the museum will conduct a written exam for the shortlisted candidates on February 15, 2025. Only those who pass the written exam will proceed to the interview stage, which will take place on February 21. The final selected candidates will be notified individually by February 25, 2025.
Selected docents will receive training that includes educational programs about the exhibitions and on-site learning sessions to enhance their understanding of the artworks they will present. Additionally, volunteers will be reimbursed for their expenses incurred during their service.
The selected docents will provide professional exhibition tours to museum visitors, and their volunteering period will last for two years, until 2026. This initiative is part of the museum’s efforts to offer an enriching and informative experience to its visitors while also nurturing a dedicated team of volunteers who are passionate about the arts.
Daegu Art Museum continues to provide opportunities for community engagement and aims to foster a deeper connection between the museum and its visitors through these educational and interactive docent programs.
