JYP Entertainment has announced strict legal measures against a stalker who has been causing distress to TWICE members. On the 26th, the company released an official statement via TWICE’s social media, issuing a strong warning regarding continued stalking behaviors and detailing the legal steps being taken to ensure the group’s safety.

According to JYP, an individual referred to as "A" has been persistently loitering around TWICE members' workplaces and residences, sending excessive and inappropriate letters. The agency stated that these actions have caused severe psychological distress not only to the affected artists but also to those around them.

To address the situation, security measures have been significantly reinforced, and JYP is closely monitoring the circumstances to prevent further incidents. The company made it clear that they consider A’s behavior to be an explicit act of stalking, as defined under South Korean law.

Under the Act on Punishment of Stalking Crimes, stalking includes waiting for or observing someone near their residence or workplace without consent, as well as repeatedly sending unwanted letters, messages, or images that cause distress. JYP emphasized that A’s repeated actions fall under these legal definitions, making them subject to criminal penalties.

A company representative stated, "This individual’s repeated behavior of sending distressing letters and wandering around the artist’s living space constitutes clear stalking. We want to make it absolutely clear that any continuation of such actions will result in the strongest possible legal response, with no possibility of leniency or settlement."

JYP Entertainment also expressed gratitude to TWICE’s dedicated fans, assuring them that the agency will take all necessary measures to protect its artists. The company reaffirmed its commitment to the safety and well-being of TWICE, emphasizing that legal action will be pursued immediately if the stalker does not cease their activities.

This announcement follows an increasing number of similar incidents affecting K-pop artists, highlighting the industry-wide necessity for stronger legal measures against stalking and harassment. As the case progresses, JYP’s zero-tolerance policy may set an example for how entertainment companies can proactively defend their artists against such threats.

With heightened security now in place, fans are hopeful that these efforts will ensure TWICE’s safety and peace of mind, allowing them to focus on their careers without fear of harassment.
