BLACKPINK’s Jennie recently made a guest appearance on Apple Music’s The Zane Lowe Show, where she discussed her upcoming album Ruby and shared insights into her creative journey.

During the interview, Jennie reflected on the album’s production process and the personal significance behind it. "I’ve learned to understand my worth, and I’m not afraid to take on new challenges," she stated, emphasizing her evolving artistry and confidence.

She expressed a strong sense of self-love, saying, "I love myself. I know I’m worth it. I’m proud of who I am," revealing the inner strength that shaped her new musical direction.

Jennie also highlighted an important lesson from working on Ruby: trusting herself. "I believed in myself. I knew I could do well, and I focused on enjoying the moment," she shared, hinting at the mindset that drove her latest project.

Discussing the album title, she recalled her time in New Zealand at age 11, a period that influenced her sense of identity. "I wanted to define who I was, and over the years, I made my dreams a reality," she reflected.

She further revealed that Ruby represents a new chapter in her career. Inspired by Shakespeare’s As You Like It, she embraced the philosophy of creating music on her own terms. "I decided I would make what I truly wanted," she explained.

Jennie also offered insight into her song Start a War, describing it as a track that "reminds you of the people you want to protect." This personal touch adds depth to the album’s storytelling.

Ruby is set to be released on the 7th, and to celebrate, Jennie will hold The Ruby Experience showcase events in Los Angeles, New York, and Seoul, marking a major milestone in her solo career.
