After a decade-long hiatus in launching new talent, FNC Entertainment is poised to introduce a new boy band, AxMxP (AMP), slated to debut in 2024. Known for its success with legendary bands such as FTISLAND, CNBLUE, and N.Flying, FNC is reaffirming its reputation as a powerhouse in the K-band scene with this ambitious new project.
At midnight on December 20, FNC unveiled AxMxP’s official social media channels, providing fans with glimpses into the members’ daily lives and releasing their official team logo. The group’s name, AxMxP, symbolizes the amplification of voices through an "amp," both metaphorically connecting the band to the world and grounding them in their musical identity as a band-driven group. Amplifiers are essential to band performances, underscoring the group’s deep-rooted connection to live sound and authentic music.
AxMxP is FNC’s first band launch since N.Flying, marking a significant milestone in the agency’s storied history. FNC’s track record of cultivating globally renowned bands like FTISLAND and CNBLUE has established it as a leader in the band-centric music industry. Each group has carved out a distinct niche, and AxMxP aims to continue this tradition by presenting their own unique style and sound.
An FNC representative commented, “Leveraging our extensive experience and expertise in band production, we are meticulously preparing for AxMxP’s debut. The group will showcase not only the individual talents and charms of its members but also a musical identity that is distinctly their own.”
AxMxP already gave fans a preview of their potential earlier this year. In February, they performed as the opening act for FTISLAND’s Hey Day Asia tour stop in Taipei, captivating a crowd of 5,000. Their confident live performance received widespread acclaim from fans and local media alike. One Taiwanese publication described the performance as “a flawless debut that garnered unanimous praise from the audience and press.”
As anticipation builds for AxMxP’s official debut, industry observers and fans alike are eager to see how FNC’s latest venture will contribute to the evolution of the K-band genre. With a solid foundation of experience and a fresh vision for the future, AxMxP represents both a continuation and a renewal of FNC’s legacy in the global music scene.
