Rookie boy group NCT WISH is set to return with their second mini album poppop, a vibrant release that celebrates the innocence and thrill of youthful romance. SM Entertainment announced on March 31 that the album will drop on April 14 via major online music platforms.
The new mini album consists of six tracks, with the title track poppop leading the release. Described as a dance-pop song, it features NCT WISH’s signature buoyant melodies and refreshing sound, making it a standout track in their growing discography. Energetic percussions and a deep bass line come together to create a polished arrangement that highlights the group’s evolving musical identity.
The title track was written by hitmaker KENZIE, who is known for her emotionally resonant storytelling. poppop paints a lyrical portrait of a budding romance, likening the sweetness of first love to a fairy tale. The lyrics capture the giddy sensation of everyday places feeling magical when experienced with someone special.
On March 30, the group released a concept teaser for one of the album’s B-side tracks, Melt Inside My Pocket. The teaser showcased the members’ nerdy and endearing charms, further raising anticipation among fans for the group’s upcoming era.
Since debuting as part of the expansive NCT project, NCT WISH has been praised for their bright energy, performance versatility, and strong stage presence. With poppop, the group aims to solidify their presence as the newest generation of K-pop icons, offering a sound that resonates with youth and sincerity.
In addition to the digital release, physical copies of poppop are currently available for pre-order both online and offline, accompanied by a variety of collectible inclusions that reflect the album’s charming concept.
NCT WISH’s second mini album poppop will be officially released on April 14 at 6 PM KST.
