Stray Kids have added another milestone to their growing list of achievements, with their 2021 hit single "Thunderous" earning a gold certification from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). This recognition, confirmed by their label JYP Entertainment on Monday, marks the group's continued success in the highly competitive US market.
"Thunderous," the lead single from their second full-length album Noeasy, has now surpassed 500,000 units in sales and shipments in the United States, solidifying its status as the group's fourth single to receive this honor. In addition to "Thunderous," Stray Kids have also seen their third studio album Five-Star and their eighth EP Rock-Star achieve similar recognition, highlighting the group's consistent global impact.
Originally released in August 2021, "Thunderous" not only helped Stray Kids secure their first win on a television music chart show but also earned them a place on Melon's Top 100 chart. The album Noeasy itself was a significant success, becoming the band's first million-seller.
The group’s momentum continues with their recent ninth EP Ate, which surpassed 3 million in sales last week. The mini-album, released just last month, debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, reinforcing Stray Kids' international appeal. The lead track "Chk Chk Boom" also made waves, landing at No. 49 on the Billboard Hot 100—a new record for the band.
As Stray Kids continues to break new ground in the music industry, their achievements reflect both their growing influence and the expanding reach of K-pop worldwide.
