BTS’s Jimin has set another remarkable solo milestone as his song "Who" surpassed 1.5 billion streams on Spotify. According to the platform’s latest data, the title track from his second solo album "MUSE" reached this achievement on February 26, making history in K-pop streaming records.
Music analytics platform Chart Data reported that "Who" is the fastest K-pop song in Spotify history to surpass 1.5 billion streams, solidifying Jimin’s influence in the global music industry. The track, released in July 2023, originally set a record for the highest single-day streams for a K-pop song upon release, debuting at No. 3 on Spotify’s Daily Top Songs Global chart.
The song’s popularity extended beyond its initial success, achieving a remarkable chart resurgence just five days after its release. By February 23, "Who" reclaimed the No. 1 spot on Spotify’s global chart and maintained its top position for four consecutive days, demonstrating its long-term appeal.
Jimin’s record-breaking streak continues, as "Who" was officially recognized in Spotify’s "2024 Wrapped" year-end review as the most-streamed K-pop song globally. Additionally, it became the fastest K-pop track to reach 1 billion streams and has remained on Spotify’s Weekly Top Songs Global chart for 31 consecutive weeks.
His success extends beyond Spotify. "Who" dominated multiple global music charts, spending 25 weeks on the UK Official Singles Chart, marking the longest run for a K-pop solo track. Meanwhile, his album "MUSE" has been on Billboard 200 for 31 weeks, setting another longevity record for a K-pop soloist.
Jimin’s impact is set to grow even further. His previous solo hit, "Like Crazy," is on track to reach 1.5 billion streams soon, making him one of the few K-pop solo artists with multiple songs achieving this feat.
With these continuous milestones, Jimin is proving his undeniable presence as a global solo artist, surpassing boundaries beyond K-pop and establishing his place in mainstream international music charts.
