aespa has been confirmed as part of the lineup for Summer Sonic 2025, one of Asia’s largest urban music festivals. The group will perform on August 16 and 17 at Zozo Marine Stadium & Makuhari Messe in Tokyo and Expo ’70 Commemorative Park in Osaka, joining an impressive roster of international and domestic artists.
Summer Sonic is renowned for featuring Japan’s top artists alongside globally recognized musicians. This year’s lineup includes Camila Cabello, British electronic act The Prodigy, American rock band Fall Out Boy, and Japanese sensation Official HIGE DANDism, among over 100 participating acts. aespa’s participation further cements their rising influence in Japan’s live music scene.
The group officially debuted in Japan in July 2023 with "Hot Mess", immediately proving their popularity. They embarked on a four-city, nine-show arena tour, drawing a total of 100,000 attendees. Their record-breaking achievements continued as they became the first overseas female artist to perform at Tokyo Dome for two consecutive years. Their 2024 Tokyo Dome concerts were completely sold out, including restricted-view seats, attracting 94,000 fans across two nights.
With their high-energy performances and futuristic concept, aespa has become a sought-after act in global festivals. Their appearance at Summer Sonic signifies their expanding presence in Japan’s mainstream music industry, putting them alongside world-class artists in a festival known for its diverse and influential lineup.
Beyond Japan, aespa is also extending their international reach. The group is currently on their second world tour, "2024-25 aespa Live Tour – SYNK : Parallel Line." Next month, they will perform in London, continuing their global expansion with stops across major cities worldwide.
As anticipation builds for Summer Sonic 2025, aespa’s performance is expected to highlight their distinctive style and global appeal, reaffirming their status as one of K-pop’s leading acts on the international stage.
