‘If We Can Learn from the Process’ runs at the Sejong Yeondong Culture Power Station through Oct. 1

A solo exhibition by Korean artist Lee Sun Hee is being held at the Sejong Yeondong Culture Power Station from Sept. 17 to Oct. 1.

Titled “If We Can Learn from the Process,” the exhibition is the fourth instalment in a continuing series featuring artists from the venue’s second residency program.

Lee presents works drawn from periods in her past and the time she is currently experiencing. The exhibition treats process not as an intermediate stage leading to completion, but as the time in which life itself takes place.

The works connect periods ranging from a single day to 15 years. They consider experiences of remaining, returning, collapsing and beginning again, and examine how looking back may provide direction for what follows.

Related programs will allow visitors to experience aspects of Lee’s working methods. Exhibition guides who completed a training course operated by the Sejong Job and Economic Promotion Agency’s Middle-Aged Support Center will also provide information about the works.

The exhibition is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and closes on Sundays and public holidays. Admission is free.

The residency exhibition series will continue with a solo presentation by Lee Myung Jin. A group exhibition reviewing the work of the second cohort of resident artists is scheduled for November.
