Singer Wheesung Passes Away at 43, Police Investigating Cause of Death

Singer Wheesung (43) has passed away, leaving fans and the music industry in shock.
On March 10 at approximately 6:29 PM, Wheesung was found deceased in an apartment in Gwangjin-gu, Seoul. According to the police, a family member, who had been unable to reach him, went to his residence and discovered his body.
Authorities are currently investigating the exact cause of death. A police official stated to Dispatch on March 10, "There were no signs of forced entry or foul play. However, we are considering multiple possibilities in our ongoing investigation."
Discussions regarding an autopsy are underway between the police and Wheesung’s family. Officials noted, "The body has not yet been transferred to a funeral home as we need to clarify the cause of death."
His agency, Taejo Entertainment, expressed deep sorrow over the loss, stating, "Wheesung was found in a state of cardiac arrest. His sudden passing has left his family, colleagues, and all of us in profound grief."
The news of his death has stunned fans, particularly as Wheesung had upcoming concerts scheduled in Daegu on March 15 and Gwangju on March 23. He had also been actively promoting his performances on social media.
The agency further added, "We are heartbroken to deliver such devastating news to the fans who have continuously supported Wheesung. We ask everyone to pray for his peaceful rest."
Wheesung made his debut in 2002 with Can't We? and gained widespread recognition through hits such as With Me, Even Thought of Marriage, A Year Gone By, and Insomnia.
