Pearl Abyss, the developer behind the highly anticipated "Crimson Desert," continues to expand its global marketing efforts with upcoming showcases at TwitchCon 2024 in San Diego and Paris Games Week 2024 in October, the company announced on September 20.
TwitchCon, organized by the global streaming platform Twitch, is one of the largest gaming conventions, drawing gamers, cosplayers, and content creators from around the world. During the event, Pearl Abyss hosted a hands-on demo of Crimson Desert for prominent game creators, offering an early glimpse of the game’s intense action and strategic combat mechanics.
The demo allowed creators to experience the storyline of Kliff, the game's protagonist, and his companions as they engaged in epic boss battles. Each boss fight showcased the game's high degree of action freedom and its immersive, strategic combat. Popular streamer Pirate Software, who has over 1 million followers, praised the game, calling the experience "fantastic," particularly highlighting the cutscene direction, interactive objects, graphics, and gliding mechanics.
Mythic Talent, an agency representing top-tier content creators, commended Crimson Desert for its optimization and frame stability, stating that it holds up well compared to recent AAA titles. They were particularly impressed by the action and combat mechanics, describing the gameplay as "amazing."
Following the successful TwitchCon showcase, Pearl Abyss will also participate in Paris Games Week 2024, France’s largest gaming convention, where the studio will introduce European gamers to the unique action gameplay and impressive visuals of Crimson Desert.
This latest wave of global attention comes after the game's successful demo debut at Gamescom 2024 in August, where IGN North America and Rolling Stone Europe both named Crimson Desert among their best games of the event. The game continues to receive widespread praise from both media and gamers around the world.
