The 34-year-old singer and actress expressed both excitement and pressure about her first lead role, emphasizing the sense of personal and professional growth in the process. Yuri shared her admiration for Korean indie films and the director's nuanced storytelling, highlighting the absence of exaggerated expressions or clear conflicts in "Dolphin."

In the film, Na-young's journey unfolds as she embraces change, drawing parallels between the character's strong attachment to her home and Yuri's own ties to Girls' Generation. The film creatively interprets the term "dolphin," linking it to the trajectory of a bowling ball's dolphin-like path, symbolizing unexpected fortune.
