A solo exhibition by Kosovo-born artist Petrit Halilaj is on view at The Page Gallery until September 22.
Halilaj’s work reflects his experiences of war and displacement, expressed through the lens of childhood imagination and fear.
The exhibition features his 'Abetare' project, specifically the series titled 'Loja me Topa (Playing Ball).'
These works are inspired by children’s drawings from the elementary school, depicting an 11-member soccer team made up of characters like a snowman and animated figures.
In the gallery space, these characters come to life, engaging in a playful ball game that symbolically represents the artist’s childhood.
Visitors can experience a unique blend of childlike innocence and the impact of war through these imaginative works.
