K-pop virtual group PLAVE has made history once again, dominating charts with the release of their third mini-album, "Caligo Pt.1". The album, which dropped on February 3, 2025, achieved an unprecedented 11.3 million streams (11,329,400 plays) on Melon within 24 hours, surpassing the previous record of 9.72 million and making it the most-streamed album in Melon’s history within a single day.
With this milestone, PLAVE has secured a spot in Melon’s "Billions Club", a prestigious category reserved for albums that achieve the highest streaming numbers on the platform. This achievement follows their success with their second mini-album, "ASTERUM : 134-1," which had previously recorded 5 million streams within 24 hours. PLAVE is now the only artist to hold both records simultaneously, cementing their dominance in the industry.
The album’s title track, "Dash," soared to No. 1 on Melon’s Top 100, while all four additional tracks from the album secured top positions on the chart. The music video for "Dash" also claimed the No. 1 spot on YouTube’s trending videos, further highlighting the group’s massive popularity.
PLAVE has also reached another historic milestone, becoming the fastest artist to surpass a cumulative 1 billion streams across all their released songs on Melon. This rapid entry into the "Billions Club" solidifies their status as one of the most influential and record-breaking acts in the industry.
The success of "Caligo Pt.1" marks a significant evolution for PLAVE, arriving five months after their last release. While their previous projects were rooted in their "ASTERUM" trilogy, this latest album represents a new chapter that further expands their distinctive storytelling and musical universe.
The album consists of five tracks spanning various genres, including rock, hip-hop, R&B, ballad, and city pop, showcasing the group's musical diversity and artistic depth. As with their previous releases, PLAVE members actively participated in composing, songwriting, choreography, and overall production, reinforcing their reputation as a self-producing idol group.
With record-breaking streaming figures and chart-topping achievements, PLAVE has once again demonstrated their stronghold in the music industry, leaving fans eager to see what the virtual idol phenomenon will accomplish next.
