Rosé has achieved a historic milestone, surpassing PSY’s long-standing record with her latest solo hit. According to The Black Label, the music video for APT. officially surpassed 1 billion views on YouTube on January 31. The achievement comes just 105 days after its release on October 8, 2023.
This marks a new speed record for a K-pop music video reaching the 1 billion view milestone. The previous record was held by PSY’s Gangnam Style, which took 158 days to achieve the same feat after its release in 2012. Rosé’s APT. broke this record by an impressive 53 days, solidifying her impact on the global music scene.
APT. was released as a pre-release single from Rosé’s first full-length album rosie, which officially dropped on December 6, 2023. The song, a duet with Bruno Mars, immediately sparked a worldwide frenzy, drawing massive attention from both fans and critics.
The accompanying music video features both Rosé and Bruno Mars, further amplifying the song’s appeal. Its view count skyrocketed, surpassing 100 million views in just 5 days, 300 million in 22 days, and 500 million in just 47 days—a remarkable trajectory that highlighted the song’s viral success.
Beyond YouTube, APT. continues to dominate international charts. The track has been steadily climbing the Billboard HOT 100, recently surging to No. 2 on January 28 (local time). It has also maintained a strong presence on the UK Official Singles Chart TOP 100, holding the No. 2 spot for five consecutive weeks.
With this unprecedented success, Rosé has further cemented her status as one of the most influential artists in the global music industry.
Looking ahead, Rosé is expected to continue her diverse musical endeavors throughout 2025, promising more groundbreaking achievements to come.
