In a groundbreaking move, K-pop sensation BLACKPINK is set to etch their name in history as the first girl group to grace the stage of Seoul's illustrious Gocheok Sky Dome. The revelation was made by the group's agency on Thursday, solidifying BLACKPINK's pioneering status within the genre.

As the buzz continues to reverberate, YG Entertainment recently announced the group's plans to host a pair of surprise "encore concerts" in the heart of Seoul, from September 16th to 17th. The monumental twist lies in the choice of venue, which was initially shrouded in secrecy. Gocheok Sky Dome, the largest indoor performance space in South Korea with a seating capacity of 20,000, will provide the canvas for BLACKPINK's historic concerts.

While the group's "Born Pink" world tour has taken them to 64 concerts across 24 countries since its inception at Seoul's KSPO Dome in October, this event marks a defining moment. Notably, no K-pop girl group has previously commanded the Gocheok Sky Dome's stage for an individual concert, further underscoring BLACKPINK's trailblazing impact.

Amidst their international journey, BLACKPINK is currently gearing up for their North American finale, with a performance scheduled in Los Angeles – the culmination of their tour's North American leg.

In a statement, YG Entertainment shared insights into their motivation for the larger-scale concerts, affirming, "We enlarged the size of the concerts to (enable the group to) communicate with as many fans as possible. BLACKPINK will present the best performances ever since it will perform for its local fans for the first time in about a year." This sentiment encapsulates the excitement and anticipation swirling around the upcoming concerts, as fans and enthusiasts eagerly await the electrifying performances BLACKPINK is renowned for.

As the pioneering quartet returns to their home turf, they are poised to make an indelible mark on the K-pop landscape. With their unparalleled energy, unwavering talent, and history-making achievements, BLACKPINK's presence at Gocheok Sky Dome symbolizes a new chapter in the annals of K-pop history.
