The highly anticipated annual world championship of the immensely popular computer game "League of Legends" (LoL), a pinnacle event in the global esports arena, is set to commence in Seoul. Organized by Riot Games Inc., the 2023 competition is poised to begin with a thrilling opening game between PSG.Talon and Movistar R7 at the renowned LoL Park located in central Seoul.
In this 13th edition of Worlds, 22 teams representing nine regional leagues will fiercely compete for the championship. Notable entrants include four teams from the Korean league (LCK): Gen.G, T1, KT Rolster, and Dplus KIA. Quarterfinals and semifinals are scheduled to take place at the Sajik Indoor Gymnasium in the southeastern port city of Busan, promising intense battles from November 2-5 and November 11-12, respectively. The grand finale will unfold at the Gocheok Sky Dome, Korea's largest indoor performance venue, boasting a spectator capacity of 20,000, on November 19.
