SM Entertainment's Riize Honored by Los Angeles City Council for Promoting City Through Music

Boy Band Recognized for Featuring City Landmarks in Music Video and Contribution to Tourism Campaign

SM Entertainment's boy band Riize was awarded a certificate of appreciation by the Los Angeles City Council for their efforts in promoting the city through music. The award was presented to the band at Los Angeles City Hall.

The council highlighted Riize's music video for “Get a Guitar” (2023), which showcased iconic city landmarks such as the 6th Street Bridge and the Los Angeles Theatre, contributing to the city's global promotion.

Los Angeles City Councilmember John Lee, a Korean American, initiated the motion to honor Riize, emphasizing the band's portrayal of the city's historic and contemporary landmarks. The Los Angeles Tourism & Convention Board utilized “Get a Guitar” as background music in its tourism campaign “Now Playing.”

Riize member Anton expressed gratitude for the band's inclusion in the campaign, underscoring their special connection with Los Angeles. The band recently held the “2024 Riize Fan Con 'Riizing Day' in Los Angeles” concert at the Peacock Theater, attended by officials from prominent media and streaming platforms, including Billboard, Rolling Stone, Bloomberg, Spotify, and Amazon Music, as well as choreographer Josh Price.

Riize is scheduled to participate in the Los Angeles Dodgers' “Korean Heritage Night” celebration. Prior to their official debut in September, Riize performed at “KCON LA 2023.”
