In an unprecedented move, K-pop sensation Seventeen is set to take the stage at the 13th UNESCO Youth Forum in Paris on November 14, becoming the first-ever Korean artist to address this prestigious event. The event is a vital component of the biennial UNESCO General Conference, offering a platform for young voices to discuss global issues and propose solutions.
Seventeen, a 13-member multinational boy band, will be assigned a special session during the Youth Forum, where they will deliver a speech and perform for approximately one hour. Their message will revolve around the theme of solidarity among global youth and the transformative power of education in shaping the future of both the youth generation and the world. Drawing from their own experiences, the group will also offer solutions to inspire young people to take action for sustainable development.
Since their debut in 2015, Seventeen has consistently released inspirational music that resonates with listeners worldwide, making them one of K-pop's most prominent groups. Their commitment to "sustainable development" mirrors their own journey, marked by steady growth and collective contract renewals by all 13 members in 2021.

The band's latest album, the 11th EP "Seventeenth Heaven," achieved record-breaking success by selling 4,629,479 copies in just one week, surpassing their previous record set by "FML" in April. In total, the group has sold over 11 million copies of their albums in the current year.
Pledis Entertainment, the agency representing Seventeen, underlined the significance of a South Korean group addressing global youth at an event supported by UNESCO, noting that South Korea's educational revival began with UNESCO's assistance over 70 years ago.
The band's participation in the UNESCO Youth Forum follows a partnership between Pledis Entertainment, UNESCO headquarters, and the Korean National Commission for UNESCO, stemming from the "#GoingTogether" campaign launched by Seventeen and UNESCO Korea in August 2022.
The 13th Youth Forum will focus on the social impacts of climate change and the imperative of achieving an equitable climate transition. It will take place during the 42nd UNESCO General Conference, bringing together national representatives from 194 member countries, as well as leaders from various youth-related UN bodies and non-governmental organizations.
