Jeonghan of the popular K-pop group Seventeen is taking a temporary hiatus, as announced by Pledis Entertainment on Thursday. The singer, who had previously injured his left ankle, continued participating in activities while undergoing treatment to fulfill the band's busy schedule for the year. However, the persistent pain worsened during the recent tour, leading to Jeonghan undergoing successful surgery on Thursday.

Despite the favorable outcome of the surgery, Jeonghan will require a period of recovery, necessitating his absence from ongoing and upcoming activities. This includes concerts scheduled in Fukuoka, Japan; Bangkok; Bulacan, the Philippines; and Macau, according to the official statement from the entertainment company.

Seventeen, a 13-member group, is currently in the midst of the Japan leg of its "Follow" tour, having recently performed in Osaka. The tour commenced in Seoul in July and has been a significant part of the band's 2023 schedule.

It's worth noting that Seventeen's leader, S.Coups, has also been on a break since August following knee surgery. The group continues its performances with the remaining members as Jeonghan takes the necessary time off for recovery.
