South Korean national team captain Son Heung-min recently disclosed contemplating retirement from international duty following the Asian Cup.

Speaking after a World Cup qualifier against Thailand, Son acknowledged the difficulty of the decision, citing consultations with retired players for guidance. Despite his momentary uncertainty, Son affirmed his commitment to the team's needs.

With 122 caps since his debut in 2010, Son has been a pivotal figure in international competitions, including three Asian Cups and three World Cups. However, Korea's lack of major tournament success, notably their recent Asian Cup defeat despite a star-studded lineup, contributed to Son's introspection.

Despite the setback, Son expressed determination to continue representing his country as they face Thailand in their upcoming match.
