Boy Band's Leader Faces Recovery Period Following Ligament Tear During Content Shoot

In a setback for the popular boy band Seventeen, S.Coups, one of its prominent members, will be taking a hiatus owing to a recent knee injury, as confirmed by Pledis Entertainment, the group's agency, on Thursday.

The injury occurred while S.Coups was engaged in a ball game shoot for Seventeen's content. The agency revealed that he fell and sustained an injury to his left knee. Pledis Entertainment shared, "Following the incident, he underwent comprehensive medical tests, revealing a torn ligament that necessitates surgical intervention. Our priority is his health, and he is undergoing the necessary medical procedures, with surgery planned."

During his recovery period, S.Coups will refrain from participating in the group's activities, as confirmed by the agency. Despite his eagerness to partake in the scheduled engagements, Pledis Entertainment emphasized their commitment to prioritizing his well-being.

Seventeen, renowned for its energetic performances and global fanbase, is poised to embark on a Japanese tour named "Follow," commencing next month. The tour will commence with two concerts at Tokyo Dome, followed by shows in Saitama, Nagoya, Osaka, and Fukuoka.

The setback follows Seventeen's recent musical endeavors, including the release of the prerelease track "Sara Sara." This track is a precursor to their forthcoming compilation album titled "Always Yours," slated for release on August 23. A notable milestone for the boy band, the album comprises a remarkable 27 tracks, including two fresh compositions — "Ima –Even if the world ends tomorrow-" and "Sara Sara."

As Seventeen's members and fans await S.Coups' return, the focus remains on ensuring his full recovery and eventual resumption of activities.
