In a relentless pursuit of musical experimentation, Lucy, the South Korean sensation, remains undeterred by boundaries, consistently reinventing their sound. Comprising four dedicated members – bassist Cho Won-sang, violinist Shin Ye-chan, guitarist Choi Sang-yeop, and drummer Shin Gwang-il – Lucy's musical odyssey has been characterized by a willingness to embrace challenges. As Lucy embarks on their fourth year together, their evolution is evident in their latest work, "Fever," a four-track EP that carries a message of solace. Shin Gwang-il shared the inspiration behind the album, stating, "With 'Fever,' we seek to empower those battling the fervor to achieve their aspirations. Drawing parallels between 'fever' and growing pains, the album's essence aligns with the intensity of summer."
Members Cho Won-sang and Shin Gwang-il played pivotal roles in crafting the album, contributing as composers and lyricists. With tracks like "Magic," Shin Gwang-il infused the album with a festive spirit, drawing from the notion of pure enjoyment. Cho elaborated on his creative process, sharing, "I draw from personal experiences and emotions to shape our songs. This time, I crafted the melodies before weaving in lyrics carrying messages close to my heart."
Lucy's artistic identity remains rooted in their commitment to meaningful themes. As they prepare for their first standalone concert abroad, scheduled at Legacy Taipei in Taiwan on September 27, their anticipation is palpable. Shin Ye-chan expressed the band's gratitude for their international following, stating, "Our foreign fans connect with the melodies and mood of our music, transcending language barriers. They're drawn to the camaraderie between our members. We eagerly anticipate engaging more with our global audience."
