Dangin-ri Thermal Power Plant, located in Mapo, will be remodeled in 2025 and reborn as a cultural and artistic space.
The 4th and 5th units of Dangin-ri Power Plant, which were abolished in 2015 and were abolished in 2019, will be remodeled as cultural facilities established by Gyeongseong Electric Power Co., Korea's first electricity company, and was in charge of supplying electricity to the Seoul area since 1930.

The project will be led by architect Cho Min-Seok, who was the first Korean to participate in the Serpentine Pavilion project. Cho designed two concert halls, an exhibition room, a project room, and an educational space where visitors can experience the history of thermal power plants in a building with two basement floors and six floors above the ground.
The architect planned this project to create a power plant where young people who will lead Korea's culture can blossom into a new culture. He also focused on letting the Han River and nature flow through the plant into the daily lives of the residents.

The architect claimed that there are also steps in the development of the city and expressed his ambition to make the current Seoul more harmonious, a complex environment in which nature and artificial elements are mixed.
Power Plant Unit 4 will be transformed into cultural facilities such as exhibition rooms, performance halls, and creative project rooms, and Unit 5 will be preserved as a modern industrial heritage and used as an exhibition space to experience the history of thermal power plants.
