A company in Korea has garnered significant attention in the content industry by collaborating with IMBC, a major Korean broadcasting company, to produce 'Chungmuro.' The company's name is SAIDLITE, a specialized IP content company Recently, SAIDLITE has started to establish itself as a global content company by expanding its comprehensive business areas, which include content production, distribution, and broadcasting.
On the 8th, the CEO of SAIDLITE stated, "I firmly believe that the world is in a constant state of change, and consumer preferences are evolving rapidly. In alignment with this evolving trend, we will concentrate our efforts on acquiring a wide range of 'content IPs' and strive to expand our associated businesses."
SAIDLITE's inaugural video content, 'Chungmuro,' was a program dedicated to showcasing movies. This program premiered on 'Star Channel EX,' a Japanese OTT platform, and received much appreciation from Japanese viewers.
Subsequently, they launched the original Korean entertainment program 'Day Sul' on 'Amazon Prime Video in Japan,' once again grabbing industry attention. This program is a talk show featuring 'Yoon Ji Sung,' a former member of the 11-member Korean boy group 'Wanna One,' as the main MC. In this show, Yoon Ji Sung engages in conversations with idol stars while enjoying traditional Korean liquor. In essence, it's an 'idol version of a talk show,' and it gained significant popularity, especially due to the appearances of Gyuri Park Gyu-ri from 'KARA,' 'KIM JONGHYEON' from 'NU'EST,' and PARK WOO JIN of AB6IX, all highly popular figures in Japan. The program received positive reviews, and online responses from international viewers were enthusiastic, with many expressing their appreciation for experiencing Korean culture indirectly.
This program was hailed as a successful example of Korean entertainment expanding overseas, enhancing the company's reputation among experts. SAIDLITE is currently gearing up for a new public entertainment talk show called 'K★MATE,' which blends media and travel. Even before production, this program generated significant buzz, with Japan's major travel agency HI'S participating as an investor. The first filming took place at 'Sky Art Hall' in Gangseo-gu last August, where Yoon Ji Sung shared a fantastic time with Japanese tourists, performing his hit songs repeatedly. 'K★MATE' is scheduled to be broadcast through 'Skapa TV OTT' channel, Japan's largest satellite operator, in November.
Looking ahead, SAIDLITE plans to expand its portfolio of self-produced programs and concentrate on content distribution. An official stated, "We intend to acquire the rights to various genres of Korean movies and web dramas that have yet to be released in Japan, such as the 2017 movie 'Autumn Sonata' starring 'BOA and Lee Hak-ju,' the 2018 movie 'Beautiful Food' featuring 'Park Gyu-ri,' and the recently launched web drama 'Moving.' Additionally, we are responsible for distributing films like Ryu Seung-beom's 'Radio Dayz' in Japan."
