Son Min Kwang(Korean, 손민광) holds his solo exhibition, 'Various points of view(다양한 관점)' at Wootdali Culture Village in Pyeongtaek.

Son is a Korean contemporary artist who expresses the human in various genres, including paintings and installation works. He visualizes various viewpoints on humans in his style.

The artist takes inspiration from observing and exploring the people he meets throughout his life. His inspirational object may be a person he met, an online relationship, or a stranger who has nothing to do with him.

Before creation, he explores the target person of the work in various ways and collects and analyzes data. If the subject is a person around you, record a direct interview or conversation, and if the person is encountered through the mass media, collect objective data that can be collected through the Internet media.

In this way, the artist's way of working for a specific person starts with an interest in humans. He focuses on anonymity, inclusiveness, and universality, regardless of whether the object of the work is an ordinary person in everyday life or a global celebrity.

Until 2016, the artist pursued expressionist techniques to represent the inner world of humans with intense brush strokes, which gradually developed into a mixture of Cubism and pop art. As a result of his repeated attempts in media and genres, he revealed new perspectives and perspectives through visual and stereoscopic work.

This is the third exhibition in Pyeongtaek, where the artist resides. He explains that Pyeongtaek's regional color and social aspect influenced his creative activities around 2015 when he started working on characters in earnest.

He produced the works in this exhibition based on the experiences of photographs or direct conversations of citizens with various memories and experiences on some river trails in Pyeongtaek, where he often took a walk. New works produced using data collected for about three years provide a variety of attractions, including flat painting and three-dimensional installation work.

The artist said via the exhibition, "In the future, I will continue to collect information through local newspapers and produce works for local independence activists and places that I have not been to," and added, "As with the intention of the artworks, I look forward to communicating from various perspectives."

The exhibition will be held until Feb. 25 at the Wootdari Culture Village in Pyeongtaek, Gyeonggi Province.
