YG Entertainment, the management company behind K-pop phenomenon BLACKPINK, refuted recent claims about finalized contract renewals on Thursday, asserting that negotiations with the quartet are ongoing. Contradicting reports suggesting that Rose is the sole member to continue a partnership with YG, the company clarified the status, hinting at the evolving future of the group.

A local report from the Daily Sports Seoul had earlier indicated that three BLACKPINK members – Jennie, Jisoo, and Lisa – were in talks to transition to new agencies, potentially not extending their contracts with YG. The report outlined significant financial considerations for Jisoo and Lisa, mentioning a substantial down payment. Furthermore, discussions were reportedly underway regarding their ability to continue performing as BLACKPINK for a portion of the year even after departing from YG.

This year marks the seventh anniversary of BLACKPINK's monumental debut in the K-pop scene, having made their mark in August 2016. As a powerhouse name in the K-pop domain, the uncertainty surrounding the group's future has piqued the interest of industry insiders and fans alike.
