PKM Gallery, established in 2001, has been a leading force in the Korean contemporary art scene, consistently showcasing both domestic and international artists whose works reflect current trends in contemporary art. The gallery has exhibited the works of well-known Korean artists, including the masters of Dansaekhwa, as well as international artists like John Baldessari, Olafur Eliasson, and Dan Flavin. Additionally, PKM Gallery has nurtured emerging young artists, providing a platform for them to grow into leading figures of the next generation.
The gallery has made significant contributions to advancing Korean contemporary art in the global market by participating in prestigious international art fairs such as Art Basel, FIAC, Armory Show, and Expo Chicago. In 2004, PKM Gallery was the first Korean gallery invited to participate in the Frieze Art fair, marking a milestone in the global recognition of Korean art.
PKM Gallery has expanded its reach beyond Korea, with branches in Beijing, China, and Cheongdam-dong, Seoul. The gallery's impressive architecture includes a main building with a maximum height of 5.5 meters and an annex, PKM+, equipped with a boutique-like gallery space.
In commemoration of its 14th anniversary, PKM Gallery relocated to Samcheong-dong, a district where tradition and modernity coexist. With 893 square meters of total gross area and 397 square meters of exhibition space, PKM Gallery will continue to push boundaries in the contemporary art world with its extensive and experimental activities.
