Painter Lionel Desneux, born in 1970, has officially opened his new art studio on Rue Saint-Jacques in Montoire-sur-le-Loir, taking over the former premises of Montoire Décor. The artist is celebrating the opening with his first exhibition at the new location, which will run through Sunday, November 2nd.
Desneux's work focuses on creating dialogue between different scales of life, from the microscopic level to broader social organisms. His artistic approach explores the connections and relationships that exist across these various dimensions of existence, offering viewers a unique perspective on how different aspects of life interconnect.
"For years, I've been dreaming of space, of large walls that aren't limited in height," Desneux explained about his new studio. The expanded space will allow him to work on larger projects, including frescoes that were previously impossible in his former, more constrained workspace. The artist expressed excitement about the creative possibilities that the new location offers.
The studio is housed in what was previously the Montoire Décor facility, giving Desneux access to the kind of spacious environment he has long sought for his artistic practice. The location provides him with the vertical space and room he needs to fully realize his artistic vision, particularly for large-scale works that require significant wall space.
The inaugural exhibition serves as both an introduction to Desneux's artistic philosophy and a showcase of his work for the local community. Visitors can experience firsthand how the artist explores the intricate relationships between microscopic details and larger social structures through his paintings. The exhibition represents an opportunity for art enthusiasts in the Loire Valley region to discover Desneux's unique artistic perspective and his innovative approach to scale and proportion in contemporary painting.
