Global K-pop sensation BLACKPINK is ramping up production for their highly anticipated comeback album, with the group set to begin filming a new music video this week. The announcement marks a significant milestone as it will be their first major release in three years since their last full-length album.
YG Entertainment, the group's management company, confirmed the exciting news in an official statement released Monday. "BLACKPINK will begin shooting the music video for their forthcoming new song this week," the agency announced. "Both the members and staff are putting their utmost effort into delivering the best possible result."
The quartet is actively working toward releasing their new album later this year, which will serve as their first major musical project since "Born Pink," their second full-length album that was released in 2022. This three-year gap has left fans eagerly awaiting new material from one of K-pop's most successful international acts.
Currently, BLACKPINK is in the midst of their massive global concert tour titled "Deadline," which launched earlier this year in the South Korean city of Goyang. The tour has been a tremendous success, culminating in a historic achievement when the group became the first K-pop girl group to perform a standalone concert at London's iconic Wembley Stadium in August. This milestone performance took place at one of the world's most prestigious and renowned music venues.
YG Entertainment expressed gratitude to the group's dedicated fanbase while providing updates on the album's progress. "We sincerely thank fans for waiting for BLACKPINK's comeback. The album is in its final stage of completion, focusing on ensuring the highest musical quality. We look forward to sharing more good news soon through official promotional channels," the agency stated, indicating that more announcements about the release are expected in the near future.
