Korea-Singapore Celebrate 50 Years of Friendship with Special Mural at K-Food Street Festival Opening

The Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Singapore marked a significant milestone in bilateral relations by unveiling a special Korea-Singapore 50th Anniversary Friendship Mural during the opening ceremony of the K-Food Street Festival. The commemorative event celebrated five decades of diplomatic ties between the two nations through a vibrant display of Korean culture, cuisine, and artistic collaboration.
The festival's opening ceremony was graced by distinguished guest of honor Mr. Baey Yam Keng, who serves as Minister of State for Culture, Community and Youth & Transport, as well as Mayor of the North-East District. Minister Baey delivered congratulatory remarks highlighting the importance of cultural exchange and the enduring friendship between Korea and Singapore over the past 50 years.
The celebration featured an impressive array of traditional Korean cultural performances that captivated attendees throughout the event. Festival-goers were treated to graceful traditional Korean fan dance performances, showcasing the elegance and artistry of Korean heritage. Dynamic taekwondo demonstrations also took center stage, displaying the precision and discipline of Korea's national martial art, much to the delight of spectators of all ages.
Beyond the cultural performances, the festival offered an authentic taste of Korea through diverse Korean street food offerings. Visitors had the opportunity to sample various traditional Korean dishes and snacks, providing a culinary journey that complemented the cultural experiences. The event also included an exciting lucky draw, adding an element of anticipation and engagement for all participants.
Ambassador Hong Jin Wook expressed his sincere hopes that the K-Food Street Festival would serve multiple purposes in strengthening bilateral relations.
