The Far East Broadcasting Company (FEBC)-Korea hosted its 34th Sacred Choir Concert at the prestigious Sejong Center for the Performing Arts in downtown Seoul on Wednesday. The special event was organized to commemorate the broadcasting organization's 69th anniversary, bringing together multiple musical groups for an evening of spiritual performances.
Eight choirs from major Korean churches participated in the concert, showcasing a diverse range of sacred music. The FEBC-Korea Children's Choir also took part in the celebration, adding their youthful voices to the evening's performances. The variety of participating groups demonstrated the widespread support and community involvement that FEBC-Korea has cultivated over nearly seven decades of operation.
Rev. Billy Kim, who serves as Chairperson of FEBC-Korea, explained the deeper purpose behind organizing the annual concert. He stated that the event was specifically designed to offer healing and hope through the power of music. According to Rev. Kim, the concert aims to foster unity among attendees while providing comfort and encouragement to audiences during challenging times.
The choice of venue at the Sejong Center for the Performing Arts underscored the significance of the occasion, as the downtown Seoul location is one of the country's premier cultural facilities. The concert represents not only a celebration of FEBC-Korea's long history of broadcasting but also its commitment to community engagement through live cultural events that bring people together through shared musical experiences.
